Course extensions

Course extensions will not be granted to a student unless their Unique Student Identifier (USI) has been provided to AOT and verified.

A course extension will not be approved if the student has not made reasonable and consistent progress in submitting and completing course assessments.

Approval will not be given to students in a superseded course if the extension would extend their expiry date to less than one month prior to the transition date.

Extensions for full qualification students

Accredited Online Training (AOT) is not obliged to extend the period of a student enrolment if the student has not completed the course in the allocated time.

Once the allocated time for a given course has ended the student will no longer be provided with access to the course material, course assessment and unlimited trainer support.

AOT student may request a course extension for an additional fee for a three month or six month extension.

Extensions for short course students

A short course can be a single unit of competency or any other course on the AOT Short Courses or Qualification Stages pages of our website.

Accredited Online Training (AOT) is not obliged to extend the period of a student enrolment if the student has not completed the course in the allocated time.

Once the allocated time for a given course has ended, the student will no longer be provided with access to the course material, course assessment and unlimited trainer support.

Students of AOT may request a course extension for an additional fee for a two-month extension.

How to apply for an extension

In many instances, students will be provided with an opportunity to extend their course when we send a reminder notice of the course expiry date. If you have misplaced your reminder, you may apply for a course extension, using the contact us form, fill out all the fields and select the category 'Course extension'. In the comments please let us know if you would like full qualification three or six month extension or a short course two month extension. Once we receive your request and it is approved, you will be sent a link with payment method.

Course on hold

In some circumstances a student may wish to place their course on hold due to extended holidays or unforeseen events which do not allow continued study. Students should contact the AOT Support Desk via the contact us form, to request their course be placed on hold. Students may apply to put their course on hold in one (1) month blocks, for no more than a total of three (3) months for a short course/single unit enrolment and a total of six (6) months for a full qualification enrolment. This is the total number of months for a course to be placed on hold during their enrolment.

A course on hold request will not be approved if the student has not made reasonable and consistent progress in submitting and completing course assessments.

AOT will not offer a Course Hold to a student unless their Unique Student Identifier (USI) has been provided to AOT and verified.

Course reinstatement

AOT will not reinstate a student into a course following the course expiry or enrolment closure date.

If for any reason; personal or medical a student cannot continue their studies, they have the option to apply for withdrawal or to place their course on hold. This can be done by following the guidelines outlined in the relevant sections in this Student Handbook.
